Well, today was supposed to be the day of my mom’s brain MRI discussed HERE, but instead, she and my dad were in a car accident. They are fine and at home. My mom hit her head and bruised her shoulder, and my dad’s back is hurting. It sounds like the car is totaled. NOT expected. NOT wanted. But, I have come to realize that much of what life brings us is not exactly what we had planned.
When I was preparing for the birth of my daughter, I was told to have a birth PREFERENCE, not a plan. It made transitions easier when you didn’t have a plan all set in stone.
So, yes, not the plan, but they are okay, and if it was possible to appreciate them even MORE, I do. I love them beyond anything I can explain.
Mom went to the ER, had a CT scan, and it was clear. While a brain MRI is still needed to fully see what’s going on, I am grateful that there is nothing so glaringly wrong that it is being seen on CT. She has appointments rescheduled now. So, we wait.
I suppose a photographer’s blog post without a picture seems a little off, so here’s one taken yesterday, of my sweetie. She makes everything feel a little more right in the world. <3

I have been thinking of your family ALL day. I just love this post. Not cause I actually LOVE it, or the circumstances you are under but I GET them. I had a plan for my children and I too have had to turn to preference. You know what, most days our entire family is better off for the way things have gone. We do appreciate so much more, we are more empathetic, we love more, we laugh more, we cry more. In the end I know we will cherish more! Peace to you and your wonderful family. Always here for you.
